Trainee Program

Are you on the home stretch of your studies and have your sights firmly set on starting your career in the film industry? With our trainee program, we want to support you from the very beginning and open up great opportunities for you. We offer you daily practice and the support of experienced mentors within our renowned production companies in the fiction and non-fiction sector. With us you will find the ideal conditions to develop your professional potential, strengths and interests.

 

Trainees are trained in our production companies within 18 months to become production managers and film management assistants. As a trainee you will get to know all aspects of the production processes in our production companies. You will gain comprehensive insights into the stages of development, financing and the organization of productions in the fiction and non-fiction areas.

 

  • The trainee program starts annually on 1 February and 1 August and lasts 18 months.
  • You will gain your first practical experience after your studies at our production sites in Munich and Cologne.

 

  • Assignment in the different production companies (including i&u TV, Madame Zheng Production, Odeon Fiction, SEO Entertainment, W&B TV, Wiedemann & Berg Film) and extensive insight into the fiction and non-fiction sector.
  • Guaranteed employment in a permanent position, e.g. as a production manager or film management assistant.
  • Participation in further training programs of the Produzentenallianz Initiative für Qualifikation (PAIQ)
  • Coverage of the costs of further training during the trainee program.
  • Alternating mentors, such as experienced production managers, production managers or film executives, will support you in the production companies from the very beginning.
  • A lot of responsibility and exciting learning and creative opportunities.
  • A wide range of career perspectives after successful training.

 

  • You have a university degree, preferably in the fields of media or business administration, or will successfully complete your degree before the start of the trainee program.
  • You have already gained some practical experience in the field of production, preferably in a production company.
  • You have a basic understanding of production processes and your heart beats for the media landscape.
  • You have a high degree of flexibility and don’t mind commuting between Cologne, Munich and the various production locations during your trainee program.
  • You are an organizational talent, enjoy planning, and excel in teamwork.

 

  • Application period: You can apply for the trainee program at any time. The application deadline is 31 March for the program beginning in August and 30 September for the program beginning in February.
