Prime Video and LEONINE Studios close multi-year license agreement in Germany and Austria

  • Prime Video acquires exclusive second window SVOD rights to LEONINE Studios' upcoming feature film slate for a 6-month period with theatrical releases starting as of January 1, 2022
  • Non-exclusive SVOD rights to premium titles from LEONINE Studios' extensive content library are also part of the agreement

Munich, February 15, 2022 – Prime Video and LEONINE Studios, one of Germany's leading media companies, are expanding their successful partnership by closing a multi-year license agreement. The deal secures Prime Video exclusive second window SVOD-rights for a 6-month period to upcoming theatrical feature films and home entertainment titles from LEONINE Studios' high-profile slate released as of January 1, 2022. Non-exclusive SVOD rights to top titles from LEONINE Studios' extensive content library are also part of the deal.

The multi-year license agreement includes among others Roland Emmerich’s MOONFALL; Chad Stahelski’s JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 starring Keanu Reeves, the LEONINE distributed sequel JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3 – PARABELLUM reached 1.2 million admissions in German theaters; the multilayered “John Wick” spin-off BALLERINA headed by Hollywood’s new shooting star Ana de Armas (“No Time to Die”, “Knives Out”); Channing Tatum’s directorial debut DOG; the action-comedy THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF MASSIVE TALENT, which stars Academy Award®-winner Nicolas Cage in the role of a lifetime: as Nicolas Cage; Guillaume Canet’s ASTERIX OBELIX – THE MIDDLE KINGDOM with Gilles Lellouche, Academy Award®-winner Marion Cotillard, Vincent Cassel and soccer superstar Zlatan Imbrahimović; Jennifer Lopez starrer SHOTGUN WEDDING; and the LEONINE Studios’ co-production THE SCHOOL OF MAGICAL ANIMALS 2, the sequel to Germany’s most successful theatrical release 2021 with more than 1.6 million admissions.
